Current Position
As a Sr Communications Officer for the Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts, I stepped into a newly created role as social media and internal comms lead. I see an opportunity to help people see the courts differently, not as distant institutions, but as vital parts of everyday life in their communities.
I’m building AOC’s video and social media strategy to build content that makes complex court programs more approachable and human. At the same time, I’m developing internal communications that strengthen workplace culture, helping employees feel informed, connected, and proud of their good works.
Every project is about connection: bringing people closer to the courts through clarity, storytelling, and trust. And as we look ahead, I’m helping AOC evolve with analytics, social listening, and AI-driven search that is shaping a future where communication is as inclusive and transparent as justice itself.

June 2024 - July 2025 (budget layoffs)
Social Media Manager for the Office of Communications and Government Affairs,
When I joined DSHS, my mission was to make government communication feel human, to connect people with information that could truly help them. I led the agency’s statewide social media strategy, helping millions of Washingtonians engage with essential services through content that was clear, accessible, and authentic.
Through a data-informed approach, I grew DSHS’s social media views by 725% and engagement by 500% in just one year. I launched three new platforms, introduced social listening tools, and implemented a new YouTube strategy that raised audience watch time from 28% to 89%. Along the way, I developed AI-ready and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) content to improve discoverability across emerging search technologies.
But beyond the metrics, the real success was in helping people feel seen, supported, and informed; building trust in one of Washington’s largest and most complex public agencies.

January 2019 - June 2024
Community Relations Manager for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Public Affairs Office
At the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, I helped reshape how the community saw its law enforcement through honest storytelling, transparency, and connection. I led all digital communications, managing social media, video production, and public affairs to bring real stories of service and humanity to the forefront.
The results were powerful: a 300% increase in social media reach, a 45% rise in recruitment applications, and a 30% increase in minority applicants. Our social media and community engagement were later ranked among the top in the county, and I was honored with multiple communication awards for creative excellence and crisis collaboration.
More importantly, I built a foundation of trust showing that when government listens, shares openly, and tells stories with empathy, the public responds in kind.

2018-2019
Communications Specialist for the Colorado Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, I combined design, media, and message strategy to help Coloradans prepare for the unexpected. I managed media relations, creative direction, and public outreach for emergency management, homeland security, and fire prevention programs ensuring information reached people when it mattered most.
I led the Division’s creative and branding efforts, producing statewide campaigns, annual reports, and public preparedness materials that unified communication across all departments. My outreach and education campaigns reached over 500,000 residents statewide, strengthening awareness around disaster readiness, mitigation, and recovery.
Every project aimed to simplify complexity, to turn risk communication into something approachable, visual, and actionable. Whether designing materials or coordinating outreach, my goal was always the same: help people feel informed, prepared, and connected in moments that matter most.

2015 - 2018
At the Office of Community Engagement (OCE) at the Colorado Department of Law, I helped amplify the voice of the Attorney General’s Office. A team dedicated to building safer, stronger, and more informed communities. My work centered on statewide initiatives addressing domestic violence, substance abuse, civil awareness, fraud, tribal relations, sexual assault, homelessness, human trafficking, and school safety. Issues that demanded both compassion and clarity in communication.
I led communications for Recovery Ready Colorado, bringing together leaders from across the state to strengthen recovery and prevention programs, and for the Take Meds Seriously campaign, which earned national recognition for its impact on prescription safety. Through storytelling, analytics, and cross-agency collaboration, I expanded the Office’s digital reach by more than 300%, increasing engagement and strengthening partnerships with community organizations.
Every message was about connection using plain language and creative strategy to help people see how public policy and personal well-being intersect.
