Community Engagement
Role
Community events tend to be shot and edited on location, so I can push the finished packages out on our social channels to invite people to attend. I develop the storylines, edit, create messaging, and post on our social media outlets.
For the "quick and dirty" productions, it is all done on my iPhone using editing apps on the go. For those I have more time for, I will use either Canva, Rush, or Premier Pro, depending on the depth of production needed.
Building trust between law enforcement and the community is an essential goal that can be achieved through a back-to-basics approach. By engaging in community outreach initiatives and promoting transparency and accountability, law enforcement agencies can build stronger and more trusting relationships with the communities we serve.
In this section, I have included a video that my team and I produced for a partnering agency in a different county. The agency required our storytelling and video editing skills to develop a community-facing video to explain a shooting incident that occurred in their jurisdiction. The outcome of the project was positive, and my team and I received an agency professional conduct award for the year 2023.
